Becoming Mrs Merrill on August 29th 2010
My
{husband now} proposed to me back in 2004. We were engaged for six
year's before we went through a horrible experience that made us realize
how much we L O V E D eachother and that we could get through anything. We suffered a miscarriage
together, with our first ( and only so far ) pregnancy, when I was
almost 17 weeks pregnant. We lost the baby two days before my husband's
{birthday}at home, in March of 2010. We decided to get married in
August, just 5 months later- which fell on our 8 year anniversary and
the proposed due date <3 With absolutely no money, living from
pay check to pay check, I bought everything as cheap as I could, and
made everything by hand. It was a whirlwind of emotions and celebration
and Here are the pictures!
Bridal Shopping for the bride and bridal party. Which, didn't go as planned. The dresses I wanted my girls in, with such short notice, didn't have enough time to order and wait for them to ship. And my bridesmaids pretty much didnt agree on anything. So, we settled for less. The dresses they got were gorgeous though, just not my number one choice.
The Little Details which included making enough
invitations & reply cards for 200 people, hand crafting 100
candle votive favors, beautiful center pieces, card box, ring pillow,
and hand painted wine glasses, and much much more....
The Bridal Shower. My bridesmaids and I hand crafted some "Team Bridesmaid" shirts for them to wear and a "Mrs Merrill" shirt for me to wear. It was a hit and spending fun time with them before the event was even better.
At the Hotel getting ready. A few of my girl's (and two of my gay bestfriends/grooms-men) rented a room at Comfort Suite's
hotel {in town} the night before the wedding. The morning we were
getting ready, we actually blew a circuit (not just a fuse) to a few of
the rooms {including ours} which caused me to have my hair and makeup
done in the public bathroom of the hotel and finish getting ready
running around like mad women. It was definately a memory to cherish {and laugh at} <3
We had our Pictures Done at Winnikinni Castle {also in town} on the top of the hill. It was beautiful. Lots of pretty flowers and landscapes which made our pictures "picture-perfect."
The Ceremony was planned to be held at an adorable Gazebo in the backyard of the Justice of the Peace,
Leanne Burk that we hired that day. But being 90 degrees and our guest
list exceeding our expectations, at the last minute we sprung a S U R P R I S E
ceremony on all our guests at the Reception Hall! Which, me and my
girls {and a few other friends} went & decorated the hall at 4
am the morning of the wedding. It was c r a z y*
We danced to "Your Love" by Tim McGraw and Faith Evans. It was a long, memorable day that lasted from the second we woke up until the second we went to bed. Love my husband <3
