In Town Weightloss Challenge!

So... I've been trying to find a way to "motivate" my self again to lose weight. The last time I tried, which was last year, right before my wedding - I lost 20 lbs. Then I got married and gave up. This  time around, I just need to keep reminding myself of how quickly time passes by and if I can just stick it out, it will be worth it in the end. The funny thing is, when I have already made the transition in my diet and exercise, it is so easy to do. The problem I am having right now is starting the journey.

An old childhood friend of mine, Chanel, works for a company called Herbal Life. And she is a weightloss coach ( I guess ) so she introduced me to something that will be starting June 27th which is just in a few weeks. Basically, it is $65 to join. With that, you get 30 healthy breakfast shakes, you meet once a week ( all of you ) in town ( where I live thank God ) and go over ideas and ways to be successful losing weight. You are weighed in every week and the challenge lasts 4-6 weeks. Everyone's joining fee is put into a "kitty pot" and every time someone gains one pound, you add in a dollar. At the end of the challenge, the top 3 people who have lost the most weight ( measured in percentages ) you get a cash reward. Also, the person with the most inches lost gets a cash reward.

It will be hard to convince my husband that this is worth me spending $65 cause things are just so tight right now. But I basically told him that no matter what- I am joining!!! So I am excited.... and I will keep you all updated. I even made an event on my facebook page to get some friends and associates to do it along with me. That way none of us will be alone, and the more, the merrier.

  1. Good luck with the challenge! It sounds totally doable :)

I think the most important thing is to find something that's sustainable! If you treat it like a lifestyle change and celebrate every little newly-formed good habit, it becomes less daunting! I know I did years of yo-yo dieting only to gain the weight back twofold.
